I am torn between a 3.5 rating and a 4 rating. So here's the good news: So coming from a much smaller starter cage to this cage which is a perfect measurement compared to the other cages that are narrow width wise and huge height wise, was very comforting because parakeets like the width even more than the height and Cookie has been singing for days now loving her new home. And while this is not considered a flight cage, it gives her lots of flying and climbing room. It has a grill so that there's no having her walk or eat on top of her poop. I love that it has a big door which includes the smaller front door and left side door so that I can let her out easily with plenty of room. Her last cage had a small front door with the bottom opening up like a moat - not good because she would stand on it, try to eat it, go under it, you name it. The bad news: Be advised that it comes with absolutely no instructions and I was not impressed with the plastic cups or the perch. I already had my stainless steel cups and wooden perches ready but would have liked to use one of the plastic feeding cups for extras like broccoli, carrots, etc. Can't for the life of me figure out how to install it! The dome top does not fit perfectly and the sliding door on the left was loose. ALSO PLEASE BE AWARE that when you take the bottom tray out, your bird can easily fly out because of the big gap and there is a smaller gap between the grill and the bottom tray. Being that it says wrought iron, I expected it to be sturdier and the plastic could have been nicer. Having said that, it's a beautiful cage. Cookie loves it so that's what counts. I do think for the money, they could have done a better job in regards to the material and why weren't there any instructions? I suggest buying wooden perches and stainless steel feeding cups which are healthier for birds to begin with. The birdbath I had, fit perfectly without obstructing the entrance. Now my bird lives in the White House and, luckily not on Capital hill! LOL
